Recently, the book launch of "Old Friends": The Xi Jinping - Iowa Story by Ms. Sarah Lande from Iowa, the US was held in Des Moines, the capital of Iowa. One page of the book specially describes the 100,000 Strong Program between Wanxiang and Muscatine, Iowa. Both Chinese and American guests present the book launch expressed unanimous praise for Wanxiang's efforts and contributions to Sino-American communications. 

General Secretary Xi Jinping once paid a visit to Muscatine, Iowa in 1985 and 2012 and received a warm reception there. Ms. Sarah told the story between General Secretary Xi and Iowa, including Wanxiang's 100,000 Strong Program. The book reads: "In 2013, Wanxiang America Corporation signed an agreement with Muscatine High School and Muscatine Community College as a part of the US State Department’s 100,000 Strong Program in an attempt to offer scholarship for students from the school and college studying in China. So far, this program has sponsored a great number of students and adults who accompanied them to gain access to science, Chinese and Chinese culture training in Hangzhou." 

Wanxiang America Corporation gave proactive support to the publication of this book and checked and proofread the contents in the 100,000 Strong Program concerning Wanxiang, and also gave support to its follow-up publication. 

During her speech at the luncheon party for guests present at the book launch, Ms. Sarah extended her gratitude for Wanxiang's years of concern and support for this book and also to the 100,000 Strong Program, for the program provides an access to nearly 50 college and secondary school students from Muscatine to study in China. Li Gang from Wanxiang America Corporation attended the book launch. Cui Tiankai, Chinese ambassador to the US, said passionately to him "you have done a great thing!" Liu Jun, Chinese Vice Consul-General to Chicago, said that Wanxiang is far-sighted for it has seized each significant opportunity in Sino-US relations and had made its contributions.
